This policy applied to the TG Media web sites and services. We have separate policies for our products.

Website visitors

Except as described below, TG Media does not collect or require visitors to its Web sites to supply personally-identifying information such as names, email addresses, and phone numbers. Like most web site operators, TG Media does collect non-personally-identifying information that web browsers and servers typically make available, which are the browser type, language preference, referring site, and date and time of each visitor request. TG Media also collects potentially-personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, which are non-personally-identifying in and of themselves but could be used in conjunction with other information to personally identify users.

TG Media's purpose in collecting this information is to better understand how TG Media's visitors use its web sites. To that end, TG Media may share potentially-personally-identifying information with its employees and service providers. TG Media may also release non-personally-identifying information about visitors (e.g., by publishing a report on web site usage trends). Otherwise, TG Media will not publicly release potentially-personally-identifying information except under the same circumstances as TG Media releases personally-identifying information. Those circumstances are explained below.

When you visit the TG Media web sites and use our services, you agree that TG Media may process your personal data.

Community users

Certain members of the TG Media community (contributors, customers, etc.) choose to interact with TG Media in ways that require TG Media and others to know more about them. The amount and type of information that TG Media gathers from those members depends on the nature of the interaction. TG Media collects personally-identifying information only insofar as is necessary to fulfill the purpose of the community member's interaction with TG Media. Community members should assume that information that is supplied may be made available to the public and any sensitive information should not be stored on TG Media web sites.

JavaScript

What is JavaScript?

Javascript is a scripting language used by web developers to improve the browsing comfort of users. Most major Web sites use javascript. Always be careful about allowing JavaScript to run on un-trusted websites. TG Media uses 100% safe scripts which are developed in-house to avoid any potential security risk.

How we use JavaScript

TG Media's web sites use JavaScript to help improve your browsing experience within our web sites. Javascript allows for much more advanced web development than standard HTML script. TG Media uses the Prototype and Scriptaculous JavaScript libraries on it's web sites.

How to control the use of JavaScript. You have the ability to accept or decline Javascript within the security settings of your browser. TG Media visitors who do not wish to allow JavaScript to run should disable JavaScript in their browser's security settings. TG Media websites are developed with the intention of having JavaScript enabled, so certain features of TG Media's web sites may not function properly unless JavaScript is enabled.

How to enable/disable JavaScript in Firefox

Using the main firefox toolbar, go to Tools > Options. Select the "Content" tab and there is an option to allow or disable Javascript by checking or un-checking the tickbox next to "Enable JavaScript". Once you have done this click the "ok" button and refresh the page by pressing the button next to the address bar or press F5 on your keyboard.

How to enable/disable JavaScript in Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8

Using the main Internet Explorer toolbar, go to Tools > Internet Options. Select the "Security" tab and use the slider to adjust the security level. To enable JavaScript you should select "Medium" or "Medium-high" security and to disable JavaScript you should select "High". Once you have done this click the "ok" button and refresh the page by pressing the button next to the address bar or press F5 on your keyboard.

Cookies

What are cookies?

A cookie is a string of information that a Web site stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the Web site each time the visitor returns. Most major Web sites use cookies. Because the browser provides this cookie information to the Web site at each visit, cookies serve as a sort of label that allows a Web site to "recognize" a browser when it returns to the site. The domain name in TG Media cookies will clearly identify their affiliation with TG Media.

How we use cookies

TG Media's web sites use cookies to help TG Media identify and track visitors, their usage of TG Media web sites and visits to TG Media's web sites. The basic idea is to gather aggregate data about how people use the TG Media web sites. The term usually used to describe this is "web analytics" and the cookies are the tools by which a website owner collects this web analytics data.

TG Media uses the information provided by cookies and tracking pixels to develop a better understanding of how TG Media's visitors use TG Media's web sites, and to facilitate those visitors' interactions with TG Media's web sites. TG Media may make the aggregate data obtained from web analytics publicly available. If this data is made available, none of the information will be personally-identifying information or potentially-personally-identifying information.

How to control the use of cookies. You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. TG Media visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers by TG Media should set their browsers to refuse cookies before linking to TG Media's web sites. Certain features of TG Media's web sites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.
